Professional Experience

My professional trajectory spans more than ten years of progressive leadership across K-12 education administration, higher education student affairs, and applied practitioner scholarship, rooted in a consistent commitment to institutional equity, student-centered practice, and the development of leaders who lift others. I began in the Washoe County School District, Nevada's second-largest public school system, where I spent thirteen years in increasingly senior executive administrative roles supporting district leadership across academics, student support, operations, and continuous improvement. That work gave me fluency in the systems, structures, and fiscal realities that define large public institutions: budget management, legislative liaison, strategic planning, cross-functional team leadership, and disciplined execution that enables complex organizations to function. In March 2024, I transitioned to higher education as the Associate Director of Student Government at the University of Nevada, Reno, where I advise the ASUN Undergraduate Student Senate, lead shared governance processes, and maintain full budget authority for $3 million in student government allocations. In Spring 2026, I completed a graduate practicum in Student-Athlete Development at Nevada Wolf Pack Athletics, applying student development theory, Positive Psychology frameworks, and intersectional approaches to NCAA Division I programming across more than 136 supervised hours. Across all these contexts, one commitment has remained constant: the belief that institutional leadership is only meaningful when it is oriented toward the people who have historically had the least access to its benefits.

Associate Director of Student Government

Governance & Legislative Affairs

I lead the ASUN Elections Commission and the Legislative Affairs and Judicial branches, ensuring institutional compliance with Nevada Open Meeting Law and Public Records requirements. I advise the ASUN Speaker of the Senate and the 26-member Undergraduate Student Senate on governance, legislation, and strategic planning grounded in student development theory.

Leadership Development & Training

I design and facilitate new-officer training and orientation programs in partnership with the broader Center for Student Engagement team, building officer capacity through structured developmental experiences. In April 2026, I designed and delivered ASUN New Officer Training, a full-day curriculum built around agency development frameworks.

Civic Engagement

I co-lead democratic engagement and civic learning initiatives, including national voter registration efforts. I served as an Election Worker at the UNR on-campus voting site during the November 2024 General Election. UNR subsequently received the 2025–2026 Voter-Friendly Campus designation from the Campus Vote Project & NASPA, one of 272 institutions nationally to receive it. UNR’s civic engagement efforts were also featured on KUNR Public Radio in November 2024.

I provide oversight of the SEAB governance structures, including programming and policy decisions.

Developed and co-facilitated a men’s student-athlete wellness group in partnership with the UNR Counseling Center, grounded in resiliency and strengths-based frameworks
Designed original assessment tools for the Wolf Pack EDGE program and the wellness group to measure student-athlete engagement and developmental outcomes
Supported community service hour tracking and contributed to departmental programming initiatives
Conducted informational interviews with Joe Flores (Senior Associate AD for Compliance) and Dr. Sheena Harvey (E.L. Wiegand Fitness Center)
